Areas from Austin, Texas, to Omaha, Nebraska, are on alert for a severe weather outbreak that is likely to feature multiple tornadoes into Tuesday night.
The storms will threaten lives and property and are likely to produce the biggest outbreak of the year so far. There is the potential for this outbreak to rival some of the biggest in the past few years.
The first severe storms ignited in Nebraska and northeastern Kansas during Tuesday morning. Severe storms were moving into northern Missouri and southern Iowa during the midday hours. This is just a small sample of what may unfold later in the day.
