An exciting weekend of sport is on tap for Manchester, but rainfall will dampen events from Friday through Sunday.

Spells of rain are expected as the Great City Games take place on Friday afternoon.

The odd shower Friday morning will be followed by increasing rainfall in the afternoon. The Great City Games, which take place on Deansgate and near the athletic arena in Albert Square begin at 16:45 BST. The final event will start at 19:18 BST. Temperatures will range from 14-17 C (57-62 F).
